We are SO excited to welcome debut picture book author Katherine Jumbe to Wild Rumpus Books! And we will be celebrating her book, ‘Night: A Children’s Fable’ , with a special Saturday morning story time!
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Even long ago, there was day and night. The day was full of light and warmth, and people and animals alike rejoiced in the rays of the sun. But what happens when people get greedy and take the Night for granted? What will become of the Earth and those who dwell upon it? Katherine Jumbe masterfully brings the world of the Malawian savanna to life, telling a rhythmic tale perfect for bedtime. Rich illustrations by Shana Dixon depict Baby Mwana and her older Sister Alekachawo as they trek up the great Sky Road to bring the heavens back into balance.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Katherine Jumbe is a first-time author who loves to read, travel, sing, play volleyball, and hike. She is a proud Malawian by birth and a bona fide Minnesotan by survival of many winters. Picture books were her first window into the world, the inspiration for countless adventures and imaginings, and a wellspring of beautiful memories with her late mom.

Following the event, Katherine will be available to sign copies of his books. If you are unable to attend but would still like a signed copy, you may order a copy from this page and we will ship after the event, or hold it behind the counter for local pickup. Please note in your order any personalization requests and we will do our best to accommodate. Orders must be placed by 5 p.m. on Friday, February 14th to guarantee signed copies.
