Feel Better, Do Better: A Health and Wellness Pep-Talk for Moms {Part 6}

Feel Better, Do Better {Part 6} | Twin Cities Familys Blog

Ladies, for my last post in this series, it’s time we talk about those lumps and bumps. Yes, I’m talking about cellulite. Frankly, for as common as it is, cellulite shouldn’t be the shameful, hush-hush subject that it often is. As a matter of fact, most of us, men and women, have some amount of cellulite somewhere on our bodies, no matter how often we hit the gym or how well we eat. The truth is that even very slender, fit women can develop cellulite, so we need to stop looking at this extremely common cosmetic concern as a testament to how physically fit or healthy we are.

Instead, let’s face the fact that 90% of us ladies are going to have cellulite at some point in our lives, and that’s just fine. But if dimples and dents are keeping you from wearing your favorite pair of shorts or are leaving you covered up on the beach instead of breaking out your swimsuit, cellulite can become a problem.

The good news is that there is a way you can get rid of cellulite without having to undergo a surgical procedure, nor do you have to mess with gimmicky creams and ointments that just don’t work, AND THEY DON’T. The single most impressive solution that I have seen is a one-time nonsurgical cellulite treatment called Cellfina. I continue to be impressed by the smooth, beautiful results that Cellfina is able to achieve, all without requiring any downtime or time away from work.

Cellulite happens when pockets of fat push against the bands of fibrous tissue that connect our skin to muscle tissue, causing that characteristic dimpling or “cottage cheese” effect on the surface. Cellfina works by carefully cutting those bands with a small oscillating blade that separately treats each individual dimple that we don’t like. It is all completed under a local anesthetic, so bring some headphones and some music while your lifelong burden is lifted away!

Remember that a healthy diet and exercise regimen can go a long way, but they often can’t address every single lump, bump and dimple that we’re unhappy with. If this is the case for you, know that you are by no means alone. As we approach shorts and bathing suit season, it doesn’t have to be filled with dread! A nonsurgical cellulite treatment like Cellfina just might be your ticket to getting that boost of self-confidence and positive body image that you need to look and feel like the very best version of yourself!

Thanks to you all for your interest in these topics over the past many months. You won’t see them discussed on any talk shows or in social media, but I’ll give you straight forward answers to any and all of your questions. Until then, feel better, do better, in ALL you do!
