Blue Heron Days | The Rookery Activity Center – Lino Lakes

Blue Heron Days is the city of Lino Lakes’ summer festival! Another chance for a classic summer parade in the Twin Cities area plus a full lineup of classic carnival games, a touch-a-truck event, inflatables, crafts, swimming at the Rookery and food trucks. See our complete schedule for details.

Friday, August 14 4:30pm–9:00pm

4:30pm–7:00pm: Free Open Swimming & Community Activities (FREE)
Join us in the Rookery Activity Center parking lot for an evening full of family fun. Browse event sponsor booths, play carnival games, bounce in the bounce houses, play FREE mini golf, swim in the pool, and get up close with Fire, Police, and Public Works vehicles for photos. Hungry? Food trucks will be on-site with meals available for purchase.

Kids ages 1–7 can also test their skills in the Power Wheels Derby, navigate logs, rocky hills, a river crossing, and more to reach the finish line. All participants receive a prize, and course completers are entered for a chance to ride in the parade! Power Wheels Derby fee: $5.

No pre-registration required. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

7:00pm–9:00pm: Free Family Movie in the Gym – Sing!
Stick around after the activities for a free movie (Sing) in the Rookery gym.

Saturday, August 15 11:00am–6:30pm

11:00am-12:00pm: Blue Heron Days Parade
Watch the parade or enter your own organization or act! Lineup begins at 10:00am in the Centennial Middle School parking lot. Entry fee is $25 per vehicle. Royalty entries are free, contact Ali Lukin at alukin@linolakes.us to register.

12:00pm-6:30pm: Free Open Swimming

Enjoy another afternoon of free open swimming at The Rookery Aquatics Center

12:00pm-5:00pm: Picnic and Carnival

Join the American Legion for a family-friendly picnic and kids’ carnival games and bounce house.
