Earth Day Celebration | 3709 Minnehaha Ave

We will start out the evening with a dynamic Open Heart, Open Mic featuring music and musing from some of our amazing community. Next up, Chances R Good will be offering his inspiring and fun musical offerings. Rounding out the night we will be led into some Organic Beats by DJ Earth G Koreen! With spring in full force and Earth Day on April 22nd, we will have a planting + seed swap station if people would like to make a plant start to plant in their home or community garden! We also intend to share in a community prayer/meditation to honor and give thanks for our collective home, our Earth!  

Our food vendor is Odessa Mama, Ukrainian mothers serving traditional Ukrainian street food, (all sales going directly to the families who are sheltering here in the U.S.). We will also have a booth with lighter fair, pizza, dessert, and Mock-tails for sale. Community snack table as well, feel free to bring a snack to share! 

Other highlights include: fire dancing, kid activities, patio with fire pit, and lots of great community connection to enjoy! 

This is a pop up event at Minne Events @ 3709 Minnehaha Ave, Minneapolis, 55406. The venue is across and just down the street to the Tapestry Folkdance Center in south Minneapolis.

Timing:

– 5:00pm- Doors Open
– 5:30-7:00- Open Heart, Open Mic
– 7:00-7:30- Mini DJ set + Earth Prayer/Intention
– 7:30-9:00- Chances R Good
– 9:00-1030- DJ Earth G Koreen
– 11:00pm- Event End

Chances:

Chances R Good’s music is described as folk/hop/meta-spiritual RnB. He weaves a clean message of gratitude, respect, and harmony for creation. Chances has been releasing and performing music and poetry since the early 2000’s. His music brings inspiration and insight to all opens hearts and ears.

In addition to being a performing musician, Chances is also an inspiring visual artist! He and his partner AnnMarie co-create art and AnnMarie also creates her own spectacular art which is inspiring in its own right!

DJ Earth G Koreen:

Koreen Valdovinos, aka Earth G Koreen is a Minneapolis based DJ that specializes in ecstatic dance and conscious movement. She is an expert at synchronizing the rhythms of music with the flow of intuitive & primal movement, breathwork, and conscious dance. Expect her DJ sets to flow through landscapes of diverse rhythms, earthy tribal beats, tech-house, and melodic downtempo organic music. Owner of Open Minds Fusion Studio and creator of Earth Goddess Yoga, you can find her teaching yoga, guiding and DJing at Dance, Church, AscenDance, Shake Your bones, & Sound Temple Ecstatic Dance & Giant Gong baths.

Beyond her role as a DJ & yoga teacher, Koreen serves as a Pleasure Activist, Women’s Circle Guide, and Embodied Movement Coach, promoting healing and self-discovery through the celebration of the sacred feminine.
