2015 was an amazing year for Twin Cities Familys Blog as we focused heavily on growing our online resources for you all, which grew in ways we could only dream of. Over 4,200 moms are connecting in our Twin Cities Neighborhood Mom Groups and our Family Directory has become a great spot to find local spots to check out from sports for your kids to dinner out with them. You all made great use of our Holiday Lights Tour and Holiday Events Guide, and now our Indoor Play Area Guide. We hosted 13 events and, believe it or not, we have even more planned for 2016!
Without further ado – here are our ten most popular posts written in 2015! They are personal stories from our writers of faith, humor, loss, marriage, motherhood and so much more. These are just the tip of the iceberg and there are so many more favorites!
1. You Never Let Me Cry“I am just recently learning how to recognize my children’s tears as their way of communicating their “Big” feelings to me. It was my youngest daughter, Lili, who was my biggest teacher. During one of our early morning scrambles to get out the door, she was all upset over the tangles and snarls in her hair. I calmly asked her to stop crying. Her response? ‘YOU NEVER LET ME CRY.'” |

3. What Not to Say to a Mom of One
“I have one child. It’s not by choice. I would have had more if my eggs had cooperated. Other moms have one child because, well, they chose to have one child. Whether by our own personal choice or biology’s limitations, we find ourselves at the same destination: single child families. And that’s where people have opinions.” |

5. 7 Things I Wish My Son Could Know
“Thankfully there’s so much time for “I love you” in between those admittedly small moments of frustration and irritation that I have no doubt my son feels loved. But it has made me think about all the other things I wish he could know. And maybe, just maybe, someday he will.” |

Our page views for 2015 astound us – at 1.3 million for the year. To us, each and every page view represents a mom who is able to connect with others – whether that be online in our Facebook groups, in person at one of our events, or simply by reading a post by one of our writers, letting her know she’s not the only one managing what she’s going through.
