{Disclosure: Our partner Kemps has their ‘Power Their Dreams’ contest going on now with its focus being honoring families who provide a strong network of support to their children in sports. The countdown to the 2016 Olympic Games has started! In less than two weeks, all eyes turn to Rio to watch Team USA’s athletes compete and vie for gold on the world stage.
To us, these athletes are true all-stars, and their dedication and perseverance to their sport is nothing short of amazing. But they didn’t make it to Rio all on their own.
Behind every athlete is a support system that carries them through the marathon training, grueling schedules and elite competitions. While athletes groom for the Olympics, their families – parents, siblings and grandparents – are making the sacrifices to get them there.
Milk’s ‘Power Their Dreams’ Contest, brought to you by Kemps, was launched this summer to highlight the amazing contributions and hard work of families across the country who are a driving force behind making each athlete the true superstars they are today.
Just ask Molly Kreklow, a Delano native and a member of Team USA Volleyball. Molly attributes all of her success to her family. Her mom and dad are former Division I athletes who raised each of their eight kids to love playing sports – whether it was in the backyard or on the court. They also taught their kids about the importance of milk as part of a well-rounded diet, which is essential to making athletes be the best they can be.
‘Power Their Dreams’ will run on Facebook through August 7, so there are only a few days left to enter the contest. Kemps wants to hear about how you and your family have provided a strong network of support to champion your athlete’s dream, and people can submit their story either in a comment on Facebook or via private message. The winner of the contest will receive an all-expenses paid trip for a family of four to tour the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
