We had such an amazing night at our Field to Fork Moms Night event with CommonGround Minnesota! An evening filled with wine, music, delicious farm-to-table food, and making friends and learning from women in the farming industry.

A huge thank you to our title sponsor, CommonGround Minnesota, for helping make this event a reality! CommonGround is a group of farm women who wish to share information about farming and food. Volunteers share their personal experiences in agriculture and as farmers, as well as relevant science and research. Thirty-four women volunteer with CommonGround in Minnesota. These ladies come from all types of farming backgrounds: conventional and organic, crops and livestock, produce and more.
The overall goal of CommonGround is to connect farmers and consumers, and answer FAQ’s about how food is grown and raised. One of the ways they do this is through their Field to Fork dinners, and we were thrilled to partner with them to make this exclusive Moms Night Out a reality!
The Location
This event took place at Anderson Farms in Welch, MN. The Anderson family has been farming since 1981. Les and his wife, Jeanne, farm about 1,100 acres near Cannon Falls, Minnesota, and they primarily grow corn and soybeans, but also have a handful of goats. Their farm made a beautiful backdrop for the evening, and they were fabulous hosts!
Guests enjoyed a farm tour where they were able to learn more about the Anderson farm and it’s daily operations.
Many of the moms made friends with the farm dog, Murphy. Who could resist this cutie?!
All attendees enjoyed Minnesota wine and beer, appetizers, a farm-to-table three-course meal and delicious desserts. Live music and a panel discussion made up of local women farmers rounded out the evening.
