Art Play | Mia – Minneapolis Institute of Art
Art Play! is your chance to experiment. Each month, explore one medium, artist, or theme in an open studio. Go on a scavenger hunt to find inspiration in Mia’s collection, then make your own artwork in our studios. No prompts, no rules, just play.
Art Play! is free for everyone and open to all ages and abilities. Join us on the first and third Saturday of each month.
November 7 and 21 | Skeleton Puppets
Celebrate Mia’s “Bare Bones: Skeletons in Japanese Art” exhibition by making a skeleton of your own. Head to the exhibition for some truly bone-rattling inspiration!
December 5 and 19 | Sculptural Ornaments
Not all artwork is 2D! Join us to create unique sculptural ornaments to hang at home. Wander Mia’s galleries and see how ornaments have played a role in art and history around the world.
January 2 and 16 | Paper Dolls
Send “Paris Couture” out in style! Design stylish clothing for your own paper doll. Use textured paper, fabric, and more.
February 6 and 20 | Washable Paint
