Giving Voice Saint Paul Chorus Presents: Songs from Movies & TV | House of Hope Presbyterian Church

December 6, 2025 @ 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Free

Giving Voice uses choral singing to bring connection, joy, and purpose to people living with dementia and their care partners.

Each Giving Voice Twin Cities Chorus is a community of people living with cognitive changes like Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, their care partners, and dedicated volunteers.

These singers of all abilities come together for weekly rehearsals to learn a new set of songs each semester.

This semester, our theme is “Songs from Movies & TV,” featuring our singers’ favorites like “As Time Goes By” from Casablanca and “The Rainbow Connection” from The Muppet Movie.

Artistic director J. David Moore leads weekly rehearsals for this Saint Paul Chorus at the Minnesota JCC Capp Center–St. Paul on Mondays at 1 PM.

The semester culminates in a performance that highlights the singers’ accomplishments and shares with our broader community how music and connection bring joy, meaning, and purpose to people whose lives are affected by dementia.

We hope you can join us to celebrate the joyful work of our singers and see what’s possible for living well with dementia.

Tickets are free, with a suggested donation of $10 each to support the ongoing work of Giving Voice. Free parking is available in the lot just north of the church on Portland Ave., and you can also find free street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.

The concert will end with a reception and refreshments.

Giving Voice is rooted in the Twin Cities, where we began with just one chorus in 2014.

Now in 2025, Giving Voice offers six dementia-friendly choruses throughout the Twin Cities, including two culturally specific choruses for people who speak Spanish. We’ve inspired over 75 dementia-friendly choruses throughout the country! We foster connections through the Giving Voice Network and provide meaningful tools and training to equip people to bring joyful dementia-friendly choirs to every community.

If you or someone you know could benefit from being a part of a joyful, supportive choral community that understands the dementia journey, know that registration for our Spring semester (late January through early May 2026) will open in December.
