Walk for Congenital Heart Disease | Hyland Lake Park Reserve – Bloomington

Second Annual Minneapolis Walk for 1 in 100 to Support Adults Living with Congenital Heart Disease
Minnesota families, patients, healthcare professionals, and supporters will gather for the Second Annual Minneapolis Walk for 1 in 100, a family-friendly event raising awareness and funds for the Adult Congenital Heart Association (ACHA).
Approximately 1 in every 100 babies is born with a congenital heart defect. Advances in medical care mean most now survive into adulthood, but people born with congenital heart disease often require specialized cardiac care throughout their lives. Nearly 2.5 million Americans are living with congenital heart disease, and adults now represent the majority of people living with CHD. The event seeks to raise awareness that congenital heart disease is a lifelong condition and that patients often need specialized care well beyond childhood.
Organizers’ goal for the event is to raise $50,000 to support ACHA’s patient education, advocacy, research, community outreach, and patient-support programs.
