Hey Mom-To-Be, Check These Out!

Hey Mom-To-Be, Check These Out! | Twin Cities Familys Blog
The other day, a friend said something that really stuck with me. “There are far too many miserable things about being pregnant, food should not be one of them.” AMEN sister, amen. I don’t know exactly what that has to do with this post… not much, actually. BUT as much I’ve always seen pregnancy as being so miserable, as I conquer each week, I am finding so many goods that are just for us – the belly rockin’ ladies of the world! It’s true… there are many attributes of pregnancy we could simply do without, but don’t skimp yourself of these awesome opportunities!

Babies to Bellies  This local maternity consignment store was founded in and opened it’s Richfield doors in 2008 by someone who gets it – a mom! With a growing business and two locations in the metro area, check out Babies to Bellies for some affordable and stylish pieces for your growing bump. AND the best news yet, they offer a Monthly Maternity Club, this means you get to shop without leaving the couch or your Friends marathon on Netflix. For $10 a month (credited to your account for items you keep), you get to pick your amount of subscriptions you’d like sent – enter your size, preferences and what trimester you’re in. Employees will send you a box full of the goods and you send back what you don’t want with the free return label included!

Groove Book  You’ve heard of the show, Shark Tank? Here’s a start up that has fully succeeded with help from Shark Tank. Your baby is arriving soon, and soon all your mobile devices are going to be extremely full of the most adorable pictures of them sleeping, laying, drooling, spitting up and sleeping some more. Physical photos still exist. Utilize the monthly Groove Book subscription to get those sleeping baby pictures off your mobile devices with this highly affordable 4×6 photo book subscription. Grab one or two for the bragging Grandma’s too!

Rent the Runway  A friend introduced me to Rent the Runway after she moved out to San Francisco. All these West Coast girls use it when attending any special occasion and mostly, I wanted to be West Coast girl, too? I want to use Rent the Runway, everyday… I could get lost looking at all the magnificent dresses and accessories available for RENT. And guess what, there is a “Bump Friendly” option under Body Type search criteria too. If you find yourself sporting a bump as your newest accessory for tonight’s gala and needing an impressive special occasion piece you’ll likely never wear again, check these beauties out!

Motherhood Closet I ran across Motherhood Closet on Pinterest. You’ll find loads of designer maternity clothing for a fraction of the price on this online consignment boutique. There are a couple options fit for the unmotivated shopper (like myself) at Motherhood Closet.

  • You can Borrow! With plans starting at $150 you are sent 15 items to borrow from their “closet.” Get your money’s worth and start this right away as you can switch out the items sent for new items as much as you want, up to 9 months.
  • You can get a Grab Bag! The concept is in the title. Fill out the necessary information and pick how many pieces you’d like sent to you (to keep, this time), grab bags start at $50 for five designer brand maternity pieces.

Stitch Fix Another personal styling system that works well for busy women on the go – pick your style, budget and schedule your shipment. A friend of mine is a stylist for Stitch Fix and was extremely excited when they introduced Maternity Styling! Don’t forget, you can create your own Pinterest board and link it up with your Stitch Fix profile for your stylist to have access to.

Walmart Baby Box For a flat rate of $5, Walmart Baby Boxes start at second trimester with sample boxes coming soon up to Toddler stages. With this box subscription, you get samples of products relevant for each stage that are partnered with your local Walmart.

Healthy Surprise gives your household a chance to discover healthy new snacks from bars, drinks, chocolate, kale chips (try it!) and more. At one point during pregnancy, I found myself constantly snacking on crackers and fruit every couple hours – it gets old. Although I haven’t personally tried these box subscriptions, I hope to get my first box soon! This would make for a lovely treat postpartum while you are shedding the baby weight!

Not only do subscriptions such as the ones listed above offer a little excitement and new to those 40 weeks – it’s easy! Take the time to relax and let others do the work for you. If you have a friend or family member expecting a little bundle soon, these also make excellent gifts! I’ve personally received credit to Rent the Runway and the Walmart Baby Box as gifts. If you’re wanting to find out more fun subscription boxes, check out Pinterest for an abundance of ideas!
