Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but cozying up on a sleigh ride sounds delightful! The Twin Cities area is FULL of sleigh ride opportunities. Whether they are included in a holiday event or a stand-alone event, we have compiled a list of all things sleigh rides!


Twin Cities Area Sleigh Rides

Join Santa for our Annual Santa Experience. Create wonderful memories with Santa in his sleigh, and make sure to have your camera so Santa’s Elves can capture the magic for you. After visiting with Santa, enjoy a festive horse-drawn wagonette ride. Holiday treats and a special Christmas ornament craft will be provided as a gift from Santa. Saturdays and Sundays in December.

Cost: $23.95, children under 3 free with paid adult

The Hitching Company offers horse-drawn carriage rides all season long! This is a plus, since we may not see snow anytime soon! They offer three different tours; The Mississippi River Tour, City Lights on the River Tour, and The North Loop Tour. Make sure to check out their website for prices, as they vary depending on specific tours.

Bunker Park Stable has a variety of horse-drawn vehicles to accommodate any group! They have a bench wagon that fits up to 12 people, a flatbed sleigh for up to 25 people, a bench sleigh for up to 12 people, and an antique sleigh for up to 2 people (or 2 adults & 2 kids). Reservations are required for all sleighs, at least a week in advance. The operation of sleighs is dependent on snow. They will continue to run wagons until their trails have sufficient snow coverage. Want to add more magic? A 1-hour recreational campfire can be added before or after your ride for an additional $25 + tax! 

Cost: $120 + tax (12 people or less), $10/person + tax (13 or more people)

Outside Twin Cities Area Sleigh Rides

Don’t mind a bit of a drive for a magical experience? Say no more! We’ve collected a short, but sweet, list of sleigh rides outside of the Twin Cities Area. Who knows, maybe you could see some snow when you get there!

 

Top Hat Carriage Service | Canal Park, Duluth

During the first three weekends in December we will be offering sleigh rides and wagonette rides in Canal Park, Duluth, MN on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The horses will have sleigh bells. The sleigh and wagonette will be lit up with Christmas lights. We also have the Canal Park Tour carriage ride available to book.

Cost: $60 per sleight (1-6 people)

 

Grand View Lodge | 23521 Nokomis Avenue, Nisswa, MN 56468

What’s better than a picturesque sleigh ride through the North woods of Minnesota? A free one. The Grand View Lodge offers up their pair of Clydesdale horses for a short (15-minute) ride around their property in Nisswa. You’ll be able to take in the beauty of the pine trees, the sound of their hooves in the snow, and the jingle of their bells before your hands even get a chance to freeze! These sleigh rides are weather-dependent, make sure to call ahead to check their schedule!

Cornerstone Pines Christmas Trees | 19180 281st Ave, Grey Eagle

Cornerstone Pines Christmas Trees offers a full “Santa’s Village” experience with fun family activities like straw tunnels, a petting zoo, Santa’s workshop, Mrs. Claus’s cottage, a sledding hill, horse-drawn sleigh and wagon rides, and visits with Santa. It’s designed to be a festive, all-day holiday outing for families.

Cost: All activities are free with the purchase of a tree. If you’re visiting just for the activities and not buying a tree, admission is $10 per person.
