Tug and the Tooth: Celebrating a Milestone

{Disclosure: We’re so excited to partner with a local Mompreneuer for this sponsored post about and Tug and the Tooth.  Read more about this great system for one of your child’s big milestones!}

Has your child lost a tooth yet or is that big moment on it’s way?  Losing a first tooth is a huge milestone for children.  It is a very new experience where kids are often flooded with new emotions ranging from excitement to worry.  Kids ask tons of questions; will it hurt?  Will it bleed?  What will happen to my tooth?  What’s the Tooth Fairy?  Tug and the Tooth was created by local mom, Heidi Whitaker, to help walk both her and her daughter through the age-old milestone of losing baby teeth.

When Heidi’s oldest daughter turned five, her grandmother gave her a vintage tooth pillow for hr birthday, similar to those many of us had growing up.   Fond memories of the old tooth pillow are what inspired Heidi to create Tug & the Tooth.  While Heidi was creating the product it was important to her that Tug be wholesome and sweet.  If you grew up with fond memories of losing teeth, putting them in the tooth pillow’s pocket, and waiting for the Tooth Fairy, this is an adorable way to continue that tradition!

Tug is a hugable, lovable character shaped like a tooth.  He has a cool backpack to place a lost tooth for the Tooth Fairy.  Kids get so excited to wake up and look into Tug’s backpack to see what the Tooth Fairy has left for them.  Tug is a friend and guide for kids with loose teeth.

Tug comes with a beautifully illustrated story book called “Tug and the Tooth.”  It’s about a little girl who discovers her first “wiggle.”  She is introduced to Tug who comes to life in her dream.  Together, they go on an adventure to the Tooth Fairy’s castle.  Along the way they meet darling characters who encourage her curiosity, teach her about her teeth, and the importance of taking care of them.  “Tug and the Tooth” is just as much a coming of age story as it is a story about the Tooth Fairy. We love this premium gift and have yet to see anything like it on the market.

About Heidi, creator of Tug and the Tooth:

Heidi Whitaker: Creator of Tug and the Tooth | Twin Cities Familys BlogI’m originally from Portland, OR.  I attended the University of Colorado in Boulder where I met my husband, Johnny.  We moved to Minnesota in 2001 for his job and thought we would only be here for a few years.  Fourteen years and three kids later we have grown to love Minnesota and have made it our home.  I had a career in sales that I brought to a close in 2007 when my first daughter was born.  Over the next three years I had two more children and have always felt very blessed to be a stay at home mom.

With two children in school full time and one in half day, I began looking for a new challenge.  It was around the same time my oldest lost her first tooth and the idea and inspiration for Tug and the Tooth came to me.  With my husband’s support, I spent the next two years networking, writing, and working with designers and artists to navigate my way through the worlds of creating, designing, publishing, off shore manufacturing, shipping, selling, distributing, and finally launching Tug and the Tooth.
Tug and the Tooth continues to be an amazing journey.  My favorite part is seeing how Tug and the Tooth brings so much happiness to children.  I hope Tug brings the same joy and comfort to your children as he does to mine.
