Location: 1718A Lexington Ave N, Roseville, MN 55113

Note: If you want to guarantee cat lounge time, be sure to make a reservation!

The Café Meow has two locations in the Twin Cities; Roseville and New Hope. Café Meow has been providing locally made treats, merchandise, and quality organic and Fair Trade Certified coffee and tea since 2018.

These cat cafés not only provide a fun space to enjoy all things cats,  but at any given time there will be up to 30 cats that are up for adoption provided by a no-kill shelter. The Café Meow has saved over 1051 cats already and is still going strong. These cat cafés also have fun events every month like; Paint Your Cat On Canvas, Catgo, and Yoga with Cats.

The Café Meow loves welcoming kids to its cozy cat lounges, with a few guidelines to keep both guests and cats happy. Children aged seven and up can join the fun, with those aged 7–10 requiring supervision by an adult. To ensure a calm environment, child visits are limited to three per hour in Roseville and five in New Hope. Families with kids under seven can book exclusive admission online for a private, family-friendly experience.

These rules help everyone enjoy their visit while keeping the cats relaxed and playful. Adults assist young guests in following simple guidelines like using furniture appropriately (furniture is for sitting, no feet please), staying calm and quiet, and avoiding the cats’ food, water, and cuddles without permission. By respecting these requests, The Café Meow creates a welcoming space where magical moments happen for kids, cats, and cat lovers alike.

If you’re planning to bring children, make sure you refer to their website for specific times. The Café Meow is one of the first to bring the cat café experience to life in the Twin Cities. Their forward-thinking in combining a fun and cozy place to grab a coffee, while doing their part in saving cats is just another reason to visit The Café Meow!

CatZen Coffee | St. Paul

Location: 1416 Grand Ave, St Paul, MN 55105

Reservations Required: Reserve your spot to visit with the cats.

Kid-Friendly Hours: 7 AM- 9 AM, Saturday mornings (children under 15 allowed to visit the cats, reservations are required!)

The newest addition to the Twin Cities cat cafés, Catzen Coffee in St. Paul on Grand Ave, has already proven the neighborhood is happy it’s arrived. With lines out of the building on its opening weekend, I think it’s safe to say people are ready to support this cat café.  Catzen Coffee has a few options for places to enjoy its quirky esthetic, locally roasted coffee, and quick bites for purchase from other local restaurants.

The kids will love the amazing hot chocolate and parents will love the “kid” size option! Catzen has a “den” where the cat occupants roam around. There are comfy couches, chairs, games, and a TV to enjoy while hanging out in the den. Please reserve your spot for Kid Time from 7-9 am is the perfect chance for the littles to come to visit the cat residents. This is a safe and quiet time for the littles to visit the Catzen Den.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Reservations: Book one spot per person through this link. Need help? Email info@catzencoffee.com.
  • Arrive Early: The line at the counter can be busy during Kid Time. Arrive 15 minutes before your reserved time to grab your food and drinks.
  • Cat Comfort: Cats may not always interact with younger visitors. Encourage your child to enjoy the space without expectations of seeing every feline friend.
  • Rules to Remember:
    • Let the cats come to you, and use gentle pets only.
    • A flicking tail or flat “airplane” ears signal the cat needs space.
    • Parents must supervise children closely to ensure a calm and safe environment.
    • Any rough or inappropriate behavior will result in immediate removal from the Living Room.

Create a morning filled with coffee, cats, and cozy vibes—but don’t forget to follow the house rules for a purr-fect visit!

The “Lab” is a small area with chairs and tables with a window into the den. Each month there are a variety of classes you can sign up for. Maybe you’re looking to enhance your coffee knowledge. If so- maybe stop by Coffee Tasting 101 in the lab. Or maybe looking for a new place to host a book club or small meeting, you can reserve space in the den.

Please note: Only 20 people are allowed in the Cat Den at one time
